My daughter Brooke is 5. I always ask my children about their goals and dreams, Brooke has recently told me she wants to be an author and illustrator and spends hours writing her books.
I read to my girls every night and they love it so much, making me do voices for every character and telling me I am not as good as Daddy at making up stories (apparently there aren’t enough burglars in my stories)
So when I found out my friend Lizzie Allister had written and published her first book, I thought it was a perfect opportunity to let Brooke explore her new love.
Lizzie held a book signing this weekend in Solihull at the gorgeous Jurnie, Solihull and Brooke was over the moon when I told her she was going to meet a real author! She was so excited that she told her school teacher and was allowed to take her school journal home (which had inside a book she got a head teachers award for) and that she wrote out her list of questions, ready for the meeting.
She took it very seriously.
Lizzie is a total entrepreneurial spirit, like myself. We met on a radio show for business people and hit it off right away. A total kindred spirit, she has stopped at nothing to create a fabulous life for her and her family. This is something I greatly admire in people and it didn’t shock me one bit when I saw she had conquered another genre of business, by releasing a book.
Bumble The Bus came off the back of Lizzie’s other business renting out her real life Bumble the bus to events and weddings. HIRE BUMBLE
Lizzie signed a book for Brooke and my youngest daughter Texas and one for Brooke’s school (which I don’t doubt Brooke will rush to show her class!)
I have now read Bumble’s adventure 4 times and it’s a fab story and I cannot wait for the next instalment. To grab yours click the picture below.
